Located in Dorchester, MA, this full-time, contract opportunity seeks a skilled Registrar of Enrollment and Transportation to support a dynamic school community. Working Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, the ideal candidate will be a data-driven decision-maker with extensive experience in admissions, enrollment, transportation, and student retention.
This role requires a warm, collaborative professional who excels in communication and organization. Superior interpersonal skills, empathy for families, and the ability to handle sensitive situations with diplomacy and honesty are essential. The Registrar will serve as the welcoming face of the school, guiding prospective families through the enrollment process while fostering an inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and lead outreach initiatives to attract and enroll diverse students who thrive within the community.
- Ensure adherence to DESE reporting requirements, including SIMS, EPIMS, and Civil Rights data.
- Represent the school in communications with prospective families, hosting tours, informational sessions, and admissions events.
- Manage applications, admissions decisions, and coordinate the lottery process in compliance with Massachusetts charter school laws.
- Lead student retention efforts alongside school administration.
- Maintain and update student records, including enrollment, withdrawals, and transfer documentation.
- Serve as liaison with Boston Public Schools transportation, coordinating routes, student IDs, bus passes, and field trip transportation.
- Collaborate with the front office to optimize dismissal procedures.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in admissions, enrollment, or registrar roles.
- Proficiency with DESE reporting requirements and data management.
- Strong Excel skills required.
- Bilingual in Spanish, with excellent written and verbal communication.
- Experience managing sensitive information with confidentiality.
